All the craziness and negativity that is going on all around us all the time… it could make us lose hope for humanity. It could make us hope for something better, something wholesome, something that would remind us of how much good there is in the world. That's why, every once in a while, we bring you wholesome stories like these - because they make us smile, and they remind us of the good that there is in people.

It's like that story of someone making a fish a homemade life vest so that it could swim again. Or the story of the story of the person who adopted a senior cat that was hit by a car and gave her a whole second chance at life. Or that story of the internet coming together to help a dog with a facial deformity get adopted. Sometimes, people are good. And the person who rescued and adopted this footless bearded dragon is definitely one of the good ones.

There is so much more to this story that we wish we knew. What happened to him? How did it happen? How could it happen in a pet store? But we do know the most important thing: the people are the pet store did not deserve to have Lieutenant Dan anyway.

It's a good day when we see people help animals like Lieutenant Dan. Because we don't think that many people would have. A disabled bearded dragon. But he got a second chance at life. Because there's someone out there for everyone if they are just given a chance.
